We are ready to welcome you back to The Annan Hotel
Covid-19 has meant that, for now at least, we have had to implement multiple changes in how we usually operate The Annan. These changes have been made so that we are able to open to guests with the confidence that every precaution has been met to maximise both guest and staff safety. It is our hope that in time, providing it is safe to do so, we will be able
to gradually phase out these changes and return to how things were before Covid-19. We have used our preparation time to complete both the AA ‘Covid-19 Confident’ and The National Tourist Organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’s ‘Good to Go’ assessments.
What follows are the initial changes that we will be making to The Annan Hotel experience in order to comply with guidance, putting the health and wellbeing of our guests and our team as the top priority.
It also sets out guidance for guests that you will be required to comply with whilst on our property.
Please read the following thoroughly so that you have a complete picture of what to expect and also what is expected.
Finally, please bear in mind that these changes are all new and subject to alterations as time progresses. There may well be teething problems as we discover the best techniques to maximise guest safety and minimise the impact of the new routines. We would ask our guests to please be kind and patient with staff as we are all working towards the goal of offering a great holiday experience in these new and difficult times. Thank you.
Reception and check-in
Upon your arrival at the property we will ask you to call from the car park to check whether it is safe and sufficiently social distanced for you to enter or to wait for a few minutes. Temperature checks will be taken and unfortunately if your temperature exceeds 38⁰c you will be unable to stay at the premises. (Likewise, Shelly and I, along with all staff present will
be tested each morning).
Please sanitise your hands upon entering the building. There will be a contact-free sanitising station in the entrance hall (next to the dining room), there will also be a station on each floor and also hand sanitisers at the reception desk and on the bar in the lounge.
Please bring with you your own pen to sign in to prevent cross contamination.
Keys for bedrooms will be sanitised and placed in each room ready for your arrival.
You will be required to confirm your address, email and telephone number for the track and trace system on the check-in form.
Overseas visitors will be required to show their passports. Please bear in mind that we have no lift on the premises therefore only bring manageable sized bags with you. However, if you do need a hand with your luggage please let us know and we will do our best to help.
Our public toilet will be closed for residents and we always ask you to only use your own private bathrooms.
We will not be taking deposits for the time being as we usually would, and there will be no cancellation fees if you are unable to attend due to Covid-19 related issues.
Your room
Your room will be deep cleaned and sanitised for your arrival with high touch points being our top priority.
During your stay, rooms will not be serviced daily. If you are staying 4 nights or more and if you should wish, we are happy to provide one service and bed change – which you will need to specify which day you would like this on.
We will not enter your room without you having requested this service. Please place any rubbish bags outside of your door and we will collect them for you.
We will be removing all soft furnishings from the bedrooms. Hospitality trays will remain in the rooms but we will be replacing the cups with disposable cups. You will need to ask for additional supplies (coffee, tea etc) from reception to avoid wastage and cross contamination.
Guest information booklets will be removed from rooms but if you would like any information please feel free to ask at reception.
Your TV remote will have been sanitised and sealed in a plastic cover. Please do not remove the cover.
If you require fresh towels or amenities in your room, you will need to ask for this at reception.
Breakfast
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer continental buffet. However, we will provide a limited continental breakfast served to your table instead.
To control social distancing breakfast will be split into 3 time slots – 8:00 to 8:30, 8:40 to 9:10, 9:20 to 9:50 with 5 tables available per slot.
Guests will need to reserve their breakfast slot the day prior – a form will be left at the dining room door for completion.
Guest Lounge
Our residents bar/guest lounge will be open as usual up until 11:30pm each day.
The bar will be cleaned and sterilised regularly throughout the day and a sanitiser dispenser will be placed upon the bar for guest use.
Please take your own pen/pencil to complete the drinks slips.
Departure Days
As we only have one reception point, we would advise guests to settle their accounts prior to the morning of departure, where possible, to avoid cues forming.
Room keys and parking passes should be left at the reception desk ready for sterilisation.
You do not need to vacate your bedroom until 10:30am.
Pre-arrival symptoms & Emergency Closures
If you display any symptoms of Covid-19 or suspect that you may be unwell before travelling to the hotel we would ask that you not attend – there will be no cancellation charges in this case.
Likewise, if we receive notification from a guest that has recently departed and now suspects that they have Covid-19 we will be forced to immediately close the hotel and all staff will be forced to undergo testing/self-quarantine and guests information will be passed on to the Track & Trace program.
If this situation were to happen, we would try our best to find suitable alternative accommodation for arriving guests but can make no guarantees regarding other premises availability – particularly during the summer months.
Thank you once again for you patience and understanding, we are confident that these measures will safeguard guest safety within the hotel affording you the piece of mind to be able to enjoy your holiday.
If you have any queries regarding any of the above please feel free to contact us either by phone (01492 877 159) or email ([email protected]).
Best wishes,
Ian & Shelly.
